Paleozoic Era

Giant Ferns, such as these populated the planet
The Paleozoic Era lasted from 542 mya to 251 mya.  During the Paleozoic Era, the environmental condition was varied. Early in the era many complex life forms developed but soon became extinct due to the many glaciers that covered the Earth. Then, towards the end of the Paleozoic era plants and air-breathiang animals began to populate the land. Much of the land was covered with giant ferns and forests of palm trees, and Therapids (a group of animals mammals evolved from) dominated the land.
